The volunteer program with Agency for Rural and Urban Development is free, but you are responsible for your flight cost and your personal expenses in Uganda
Do I need a visa and vaccinations to enter Uganda?
All U.S and non-U.S citizens traveling to Uganda require a visa for USD$50. The visa can be obtained through an online system at the Uganda E-Immigration System website. https://visas.immigration.go.ug/
For how long is the Volunteer Program?
The Agency for Rural and Urban Development volunteer program has no limit on how long or short you wish to stay.
Who would I be volunteering with?
Agency for Rural and Urban Development has volunteers from all over the world.
What is the volunteer schedule like?
On a typical day you will help educate people on various topics, depending on the specific project you volunteer for. You will usually spend about 6 hours on your respective project each day. Then at the end of the day you will all reflect on what you have done that day.
Will I have internet or telephone service in Uganda?
If your carrier does not provide any services outside of your country, you can purchase a SIM card or a wireless WIFI modem.
